Three youth molest, film girl in Andhra Pradesh's Prakasam, circulate video

Ongole: The Andhra Pradesh Police on Tuesday arrested three youth for allegedly molesting a girl and filming and later circulating the incident on the social media.

The video, shot in August this year, near Kanigiri town of Prakasam district, shows a man attempting to molest a girl while two of his friends shoot the incident. In the video, another girl, who is reportedly the victim's friend, is seen trying to save her. 

The incident came to light following a complaint by the girl's father to the Kanigiri police on Tuesday. A case has been booked under sections 366, 354, 354a, 60, 60 A of the Indian Penal Code.

The police have taken three people in custody and are investigating the matter.

As per sources, out of three accused, one was in a relationship with the victim. After something reportedly went wrong between the couple, the alleged lover asked his friends to teach a lesson to the girl. 

In August, the three youth along with the girl visited a temple on the outskirts of Kanigiri where one of the boys molest the victim while she begged for mercy. The victim's friend, who also accompanied her to the temple, is seen trying to rescue her from the molester. 

The clip of the incident, that was recently shared on WhatsApp, went viral after which the girl's family lodged a complaint with the police.
