Actor Siddharth Suryanarayan, known for his role in the Bollywood movie Rang De Basanti recently took to Instagram claiming his parents were harassed by airport security personnel at the Madurai Airport in Tamil Nadu. He mentioned that CRPF harassed his parents for over 20 minutes and asked them to remove coins from the bag. He further stated that the security personnel talked to his parents in Hindi, while they insisted on talking in English.

“Harassed for 20 mins @ Madurai airport by CRPF. They made my senior parents remove coins from their bags! And repeatedly talked to us in Hindi after being told to speak in English,” he mentioned. Moreover, when his parents protested against these ordeals, they were told, "In India, this is how it is."

Furthermore, the actor claims that the CRPF staff was "Rude AF," and the actor concluded his statement in his story by saying, "Jobless people showing off power." Interestingly, the airport security in airports, including Madurai airport is managed by CISF (Central Industrial Security Force), which is managed by the central government and not CRPF, as claimed by the actor.

Also, removing coins is a security procedure undertaken by the CISF personnel to remove all metal items that one can carry while passing through the Metal Detector machines. The ordeal was shared by the actor via Instagram story, which has a 24-hour life and hence, is no longer visible on the actor's profile.

The internet users, on the other hand, are blaming the actor for his privileged mindset. Many Twitter users have pointed out that airport security is managed by CISF and not CRPF. Other said removing coin is a mandatory procedure for all age groups of people passing through the X-ray machine.

Some also blamed the actor for an unnecessary rant on social media taking the side of CISF jawans, saying they might not English, as his parents don't know Hindi.
