New Delhi: Reacting to Saina Nehwal's Tuesday's statement that if her father is not permitted to stay with her in the Games village she might pull out of the Commonwealth Games, former India doubles specialist Jwala Gutta has questioned Nehwal's displeasure.
Gutta took to twitter and said her family paid for travel tickets and stayed in hotels during her foreign assignments. She also seemed to suggest Nehwal that when she was aware of the dates of the Games, she could have planned and booked her father's stay well in advance.
Hmmm..my family always paid for tickets n stayed in hotels...I have no idea what’s being promised n what’s the demand?? But for the games when u know dates long before the team leaves..isn’t it better to book n plan in advance? Threatening not play..is it correct?? — Gutta Jwala (@Guttajwala) April 3, 2018
She ended the tweet writing threatening to pull out was perhaps not the right way to ask for her right and doesn't show her in good light.
