Kareena Kapoor’s ‘Heroine’: Controversies surround the first poster

Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’ might be suffering from some unknown curse, for all you know.

Mumbai: Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’ might be suffering from some unknown curse, for all you know. The Kareena Kapoor starrer, that has been making headlines ever since the name ‘Heroine’ was thought of, now finds itself embroiled in fresh controversy.
It hasn’t even been two days since the first official poster of ‘Heroine’ has been released to the public, and clouds of plagiarism (or inspiration- whatever you’d like to call it) are already looming large over it. The poster is strangely similar to firstly the cover of a book, and secondly to a promotional photograph for an album. While Siddharth Dhanvant Sanghvi’s book ‘The Lost Flamingoes of Bombay’ has a cover that is almost the same as Kareena’s pose in the poster, the other ‘inspiration’ that it seems to have adopted is that of a promotional photograph of Mariah Carey for her album ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’. The poster in question has Kareena Kapoor lying on a bed with a wine glass near her, and glossies all around. Call it inspiration or call it plagiarism, one thing is for sure – we could do with a bit more of originality!
