Mumbai: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has sent out a congratulatory note to actor Soumitra Chatterjee, who has been selected for India`s highest film honour - the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2012.
"Soumitra Chatterjee gets the Dada Saheb Phalke Award... congratulations Soumitra da... such a magnificent journey in cinema," Amitabh tweeted.
The Bengali actor made made his debut in 1959 with Satyajit Ray`s `Apur Sansar`. He went on to feature in Ray`s classics like `Sonar Kella`, `Charulata`, and `Ghare Baire`.
