London: Charlie Sheen, who has only been back to work in sitcom land for a few days, looked in great form as he posed with his best friend Tony Todd and co-star Aldo Gonzalez on the set of his new show ‘Anger Management’. The 46-year-old actor, who plays a former professional baseball player who cannot control his temper, seemed in a very good mood as he finally began to get his career back on track with the much-touted new FX show. Sheen has been bullish about the prospects for the new programme.
“At this stage of the game, to deliver a turd? It’s not going to happen,” a leading daily has quoted him as saying.
His companion Todd, who has been his best friend since school, certainly could not hide his enthusiasm about the show, as he grinned widely.
“Great 1st day filming Anger Management. Thank you Charlie Sheen and actor Aldo for making this day epic,” Todd tweeted.
Gonzalez also looked excited as he posed next to the Platoon favourite.
“Had a blast working with you,” Gonzalez tweeted.
“Wish you much success on Anger Management. See you on the next episode,” he said.
The show is a spin-off of the 2003 movie, which Adam Sandler starred as a businessman who is wrongly sentenced to an anger-management program, where he meets an aggressive instructor played by Jack Nicholson. According to a source on set, Sheen has been having a great time being back in front of the camera.
“Charlie kept telling the crew he never had as much fun on his old show,” the source said.
“He was obviously happy to be back on a set,” the source added.
