Mumbai: Arjun Rampal gave his kids a glimpse of real India recently.
The actor who usually doesn’t let his children accompany him on his shoots made an exception while shooting for Prakash Jha’s 'Chakravyuh'.
Arjun admits that the film that revolves around the issue of Naxalism proved to be quite an eye-opener for the actors. Expressing concern over the condition of the villages, Arjun said, “I was shocked looking at the horrifying condition of the villages in India where people are deprived of their basic amenities. I have witnessed almost 15-20 people staying in the same huts in these villages.I believe that wealth distribution should be out to use in a more effective manner in our country.”
And so moved was the actor by it that after completing his shoots he even took his children to these villages for them to understand the critical conditions that people live in and understand the ground reality of the country.
Though the actor agrees that the film tackles the Naxalite issue plaguing India, Arjun insists that the film is not preachy at all. “It is very commercial in nature even though it addresses some thought provoking issues. And I think such a film is something that helps you grow not only as an actor, but also as an individual,” said Arjun.
“I mean these are issues we hear about, but it’s disturbing when you actually realise their implications and it’s even hard to imagine the plight of the people who actually live with it day in and day out. And if the film can show this part of the society and yet be entertaining then I think it’s a step ahead in the right direction,” he added.
