Kolkata: Lauding actor-director Farhan Akhtar`s initiave Men Against Rape and Discrimination (MARD), actress Juhi Chawla says she feels "rattled" on reading reports of incidents of rape and molestation of children.
"It is his initiative. I am sure he is feeling very strongly about it. That is why he is doing this and its wonderful. I think everyone should take up one cause...you will make a huge difference to the world," Chawla said here Friday on the sidelines of inauguration of the fertility clinic Genome.
Chawla, who made her debut with the blockbuster "Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak" (QSQT) in 1988, says being a mother makes her feel scared for the safety of her loved ones.
"There are times when I don`t open the papers for many days because every time you see some horrific news you are like, `Oh my god! I hope this doesn`t happen to any ofmy loved ones`.
"When you are a mother and you read about some 5-year-old child and 7-year-old girl, it rattles you," said Chawla, a mother to a daughter and son.
Star of hits like `Love Love Love`, `Tum Mere Ho`, `Daulat Ki Jung`, `Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke` and `Ishq`, the actress says she would advise Farhan Akhtar to make films "which treat women well."
"It`s wonderful that he is doing it. I would also say that as a filmmaker, if I would meet him I would say, `You start making films which treat the women well as am sure that will also influence people`. So in a way, that also goes along well," Chawla said.
Juhi and industrialist husband Jai Mehta are the co-owners of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders in partnership with Shah Rukh Khan under their company Red Chillies Entertainment.
