New Delhi: The zom-com movie ‘Go Goa Gone’ was likely to get an ‘A’ certificate, but even the makers Krishna DK and Raj Nidimoru didn’t expect that the film based on zombies- where blood and violence would be likely- would get away without any cuts.
According to a daily, the directorial duo was surprised when the Central Board of Film Certification didn’t ask to chop any scenes from the movie. Nidimoru confirmed the reports, as he asserted that they were worried about many scenes in the movie, which they felt would be asked to cut. Talking to the daily, Nidimoru said, "We are quite happy with the decision of the censors. A zombie film naturally lends itself to an A rating. What is the fun in such a film if it`s too clean?" "There are several scenes with blood, some colloquial gaalis being used, a rave party and so on. We were anxious we would be asked to shave off all this and that would severely take the edge out of our zombie film. We are glad that the censor board saw the film in the right perspective. It`s meant to be a fun film, with certain adult elements," he added. On the other hand, a source close to the director told the daily that Nidimoru was tensed regarding the Censor Board’s verdict about the movie and was ready to make any changes if required. "Even on the way to the screening, Raj was very nervous and was mentally prepared for cuts. But he had also decided to accept the censors` verdict," a source said. "But the bigger news for them was being told it had passed without any cuts. They were extremely happy," the source added.
