Rachel Weisz prefers independent movies

London: Actress Rachel Weisz says she prefers starring in independent films and finds big blockbusters not so interesting.
The 43-year-old actresses latest film `The Deep Blue Sea` may have hardly been publicised and missed out on awards season but the actress said that small budget films are more experimental than commercial ones, reported Contactmusic.
"Some of the material I`m attracted to is not... It`s just not commercial. Which means it`s really interesting, you know? It`s off-centre. It doesn`t fit a genre. I`m not trying to sound like I`m unaware. I understand that it`s a business to some extent," Weisz said. "But I also think that with independent film, the stakes are not that high. There are things that as big-business-slash-small-art. This cocktail would have been low-business-slash-high-art. It`s about creativity rather than merchandising," she added. Terence Davies-directed `The Deep Blue Sea`, which also stars Tom Hiddleston, tells the story about the wife of a judge who engages in an affair with a former RAF pilot and was released in the US late last year after an original 2011 release.
