New Delhi: The final day's play of the third Ashes Test in Perth faced a washout threat but brilliant work by the groundstaff at the Western Australia Cricket Association (WACA) stadium ensured conditions were back to normal after rainwater had leaked onto the pitch. However, the good work faced some testing times when a sudden squall blew the covers over sweeping the groundstaff off their feet.

In a video tweeted by the @CricketNetwork on Monday, the groundsmen could be seen running to prevent from being engulfed by the covers that blew and then rose up gaining height like Tsunamic waves.

Australia needed six wickets going into the final day's play to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series and reclaim the Ashes.

England, who were bowled out for 403 in their first innings, were behind Australia (662/9 declared) by 259 runs going into their second innings but lost quick wickets before the fourth day ended.

When play finally began on day five, England resumed from overnight 132/4, still 127 runs away from making Australia bat again.
