India vs West Indies 4th ODI: India win by 224 runs, take 2-1 series lead

The Men in Blue recorded a victory by 224 runs against the West Indies having set a target of 378 runs, ensuring a comprehensive 2-1 lead in the series.

The fourth ODI between India and West Indies proved to be a one-sided contest with the Men in Blue scoring 377 runs after being put in to bat first with centuries from Rohit Sharma and Ambati Rayadu.

The West Indies were never really in the chase and failed to pace their chase well, losing a flurry of wickets in the early and middle overs. 

A rare off-day for Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer proved to be the final nail in the coffin for the visitors who crumbled for a score of 153, losing by a margin of 224 runs. 

Left-arm seamer Khaleel Ahmed and spinner Kuldeep Ahmed were the pick of the Indian bowlers, picking 3 wickets apiece after opener Rohit Sharma and Ambati Rayadu dominated the Windies bowling attack, having opted to bat first. 

India are currently leading the five-match series 2-1 and will be looking to ensure a win in the final ODI as well.

# Sharma is all set for a well-deserved century with the duo dominating proceedings at this stage following a fine partnership between Rohit and Rayadu. The third ODI between India and West Indies proved to be a thriller with Virat Kohli scoring yet another century, making it 3 centuries in as many ODIs. India were handed a target of 283 following a handy cameo from Ashley Nurse in the last few overs with the Windies all set to be restricted below 250 at one stage.

With Virat Kohli in the middle, India were expected to romp home but his unexpected dismissal permitted the West Indies to make a comeback resulting in a maiden win by 43 runs. 

Veteran spinner Marlon Samuels was the pick of the West Indian bowlers, with figures of 3/12 dismissing key batsman Virat Kohli when it mattered the most.

However, India will be looking to make it 2-1 by registering a win at any cost in the Mumbai ODI with all-rounder Kedar Jadhav expected to feature in the lineup. The Windies on the other hand would now hope that the momentum from the third clash carries them past the finish line in the matches to come.
