New Delhi: A brilliant, out of the world fielding effort from Tom Latham stole the show on an otherwise dull second day of third Test between New Zealand and South Africa in Hamilton Sunday.
Intermittent rain spoilt the day's play, but there was Latham, conjuring up an impossible catch at short-leg to send back Faf du Plessis.
It happened in the 64th over of the Proteas first innings, bowled by Mitchell Santner. Soon after reaching his 50, always innovative du Plessis tried to play a paddle sweep.
But Latham, fielding at short-leg position with all possible protective gear, was already moving, anticipating the shot, and he managed to complete the catch, at full stretch, as seen in the video here.

It certainly will go down as one of the greatest ever catches.
