New Delhi: Virender Sehwag is not your ordinary cricketer. He would sing while batting, he would hit a six while batting at 99, and he would destroy bowlers.
But even by his standard, scoring 17 runs off a 'ball' seemed ludicrous. Believe it or not, that happened against his favourite whipping boys.
Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, now a respected cricketer, once found himself at the mercy of Indian batsman, he dumbfounded everyone with a series of no balls. And there was Viru, tjhe destroyer, feasting on those 'illegal' deliveries.
It happened during the first ODI match of the 2004 India-Pakistan series, played at Karachi.
Naved had just involved himself in the removal of Sachin Tendulkar by taking a catch, off the bowling of Shoaib Akhtar. But he soon found out that the Indian legend's opening partner hadn't taken it lightly, and took 24 runs from the first over bowled by the all-rounder.
By the end of 10th over, India were 79/1, but it suddenly read 103/1 after next six legal deliveries.

VIDEO proof is here:
Naved did manage to get the wicket of Viru, but it was too little too late. Viru had already hit 79 off 57 balls.
India, defending 350, won the match won by five runs, despite Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq playing a majestic knock of 122 off 102 balls.
