New Delhi: With opinion polls suggesting that the BJP is on course to retain power in the MCD polls, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has gone on the offensive and claimed that BJP and Congress workers are sabotaging essential services to bring disrepute to the AAP government.

Addressing the media, Friday, Kejriwal alleged that BJP and Congress workers are stealing oil from transformers to disrupt electricity supply in parts of the city ahead of the MCD elections, scheduled for Sunday.

The AAP leader went on to allege that Opposition party workers are running away with water taps and throwing cement blocks in sewerage pipes to clog them.

“They will create all such problems till Sunday. I appeal to them, with folded hands, that they should stop doing dirty politics,” he said.

Kejriwal advised the people to blame the BJP and the Congress if they face any such problem till Sunday.

Advising the people to not vote for the BJP, he said that the party has been ruling MCD for the last 10 years and if they couldn't clean up the city in these years, how can they clean the city in the coming years.

Kejriwal said, “Agar aapne BJP ko vote diya aur aapke bacche ko dengue ho jata hai to aap hi zimmedar honge, kyuki aapne dengue wali party, chikungunya wali party, maccharo wali party ko vote diya (If you (citizens) vote for the BJP and if your child contracts dengue, then you yourself will be responsible because you voted for a party that represents dengue, chikungunya, mosquitoes...).”

He went on to appeal to the people of the city to not vote for a 'finished' Congress.

“No use to vote for Congress, don't waste your vote,” he said.

“Vote for an honest party (AAP) and we will make Delhi shine in one year and end the menace of dengue in 3 years,” he said in his appeal to the public.

The three municipal corporations of Delhi will go to vote on Sunday and counting of votes will be held on April 26 (Wednesday).

Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken slammed Kejriwal for his statement.

"This is bizarre, he should realise that he is the Chief Minister of Delhi. He should look at the CAG report, the CAG had come down heavily on the Delhi government. He is blaming everyone as he is unable to perform as CM," he said.
