Growth of eight infrastructure sectors slows to 4.8% in October

New Delhi: Growth of eight infrastructure sectors slowed down to 4.8 percent in October.

Eight infrastructure sectors of coal, crude oil, natural gas, refinery products, fertilisers, steel, cement and electricity had grown by 5 percent in October 2017.

These eight segments comprise 40.27 percent of the weight of items included in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP).

Crude Oil production declined by 5 percent, Natural Gas production by 0.9 percent and fertilizers production by 11.5 percent in October.

While Coal production increased by 10.6 percent, Petroleum Refinery production by 1.3 percent, Steel production by 2.2 percent, Cement production by 18.4 percent and  Electricity generation increased by 11.4 percent in October.
