More tickets released for 'Harry Potter' play

London: "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" has proved hugely popular since tickets went on sale earlier this week, and now the production has extended the booking period for a third time.

Due to "unprecedented public demand" following the start of the general sale this morning, the producers have released a further allocation of tickets through to May 27, 2017, reported Digital Spy.

After just eight hours on priority sale on October 28, 175,000 tickets had been sold, and some purchasers have been reselling their seats online for over 1,000 pounds per ticket.

"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" will be a sequel to the original book series. Set 19 years after the end of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", it will focus on Harry's youngest son Albus.

The play in two halves has been billed as the eighth part of the series and is based on a new story by JK Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany.

Although not a musical, Imogen Heap has been nabbed to do the music and they've enlisted the help of Olivier Award winner and Tony Award nominee Steven Hoggett to do the movement.

Previews officially begin on June 7 and there will be four special preview performances in late May.
