New Delhi: Researchers claimed to have recorded a pair of dolphins having conversation for the first time.
According to a study, two Black sea bottlenose dolphins, named Yasha and Yana, were taped talking to each other in a pool, and without interruption.
They said that the dolphins at the Karadag Nature Reserve in Russia can even pause and listen to one another before responding.
They said the doplhins created 'pulses or whistles' which they believe are meant to form words and sentences.
“Essentially, this exchange resembles a conversation between two people,” lead researcher Dr Vyacheslav Ryabov said.
“Each pulse that is produced by dolphins is different from another by its appearance in the time domain and by the set of spectral components in the frequency domain. In this regard, we can assume that each pulse represents a phoneme or a word of the dolphin's spoken language.”

Scientists now believed that dolphins have a highly spoken language, similar to the human language.
A 2007 study also claimed dolphins have their own language.
For more than 25 millions, dolphins have possessed brains that are larger and more complex than human ones.
Dolphins are highly intelligent marina mammals and they consume a variety of prey including fish, squid and crustaceans. It is believed that there are 40 extant species of dolphins.
The study was published last month in the St Petersburg Polytechnical University Journal.
