Budgam J&K Election Results 2024 Live: Budgam is a constituency in the 90-assembly Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated in the Kashmir Valley and is known for having the largest Shia Muslim population in the region. Located just 11 kilometers from the UT's capital Srinagar, Budgam holds strategic importance due to its proximity to the city. The seat went to polls on September 25 in the second phase of voting.

As per the 2011 Census, Budgam district has a population of approximately 735,753. The majority of residents, 94.78%, speak Kashmiri, while 3.01% of the population speaks Gojri. 

In the 2014 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) secured victory in the Budgam constituency.

01.32 PM: Omar Abdullah Wins From Budgam Assembly Seat - ECI

As per Election Commission of India's website, Omar Abdullah secured the Budgam seat by securing more than 36 thousand votes (36010).

12.27 PM: Omar Abdullah Leading With 11278 Votes

As per the Election Commission of India, NC candidate Omar Abdullah is leading with 11278 votes, he has got 23899 votes till now.

AGA SYED MUNTAZIR MEHDI - 979 ( -1408) 

In the ongoing vote counting trends for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, Omar Abdullah of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference is currently leading with 2,387 votes, marking an increase of 1,408 votes from mehdi. In contrast, AGA Syed Muntazir Mehdi of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party has received 979 votes, till now.

Omar Abdullah, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Vice President, is currently leading in both the Budgam and Ganderbal constituencies during the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Election.

08.40 AM: Omar Abdullah Says, 'Let The Result Come'

In a recent statement, Omar Abdullah, Vice President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) and the party's candidate for Ganderbal and Budgam, addressed speculation about a potential alliance with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He clarified, "Neither have we asked for any support from them nor have we received any support... let the result come. Not sure why we are so restless; let the result come, right now nobody has the number... right now we are not in need (of their support)... once the result is out, we will analyse..." Abdullah emphasized the importance of awaiting election results before considering any alliances.

07.22 AM: Omar Abdullah Remains Optimistic Ahead Of Results 

As the Ganderbal election results is set to be announced today, Omar Abdullah remains optimistic about his party's efforts. In a statement earlier today, Abdullah expressed his confidence in the hard work of his team, saying, “Here’s wishing all my colleagues and allies the very best of luck for today. We fought the good fight & now, InshaAllah, the results will reflect that.”
