Assembly Bye Election Results 2024: The polls were held on July 10 for the 13 seats - Rupauli in Bihar, Raiganjm Ranaghat Dakshin, Bagda and Maniktala in West Bengal, Vikravandi in Tamil Nadu, Amarwara in Madhya Pradesh, Badrinath and Manglaur in Uttarakhand, Jalandhar West in Punjab and Dehra, Hamirpur and Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh.

Assembly bye election results 2024 Highlights: In the bypolls for the 13 assembly seats sparead across seven states, the Congress-led INDIA bloc outperformed the BJP-led NDA to win 10 out of the 13 seats. The polls were held on July 10 for the 13 seats - Rupauli in Bihar, Raiganjm Ranaghat Dakshin, Bagda and Maniktala in West Bengal, Vikravandi in Tamil Nadu, Amarwara in Madhya Pradesh, Badrinath and Manglaur in Uttarakhand, Jalandhar West in Punjab and Dehra, Hamirpur and Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh. The BJP could manage to win just two seats - Amarwara in Madhya Pradesh and Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh.

JDU MLA Bima Bharti had resigned from Rupauli after she joined the RJD to contest the Lok Sabha polls from Purnia.  In Raiganj, MLA Krishna Kalyani resigned to contest the Lok Sabha polls on the TMC ticket. Similarly, Mukut Mani Adhikari resigned from the Ranaghat Dakshin seat, Biswajit Das from the Bagda seat and the by-polls at the Maniktala seat were necessitated following the death of MLA Sadhan Pandey. Mukut Mani Adhikari had quit the BJP to join TMC ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. Biswajit Das contested the polls from the Bangaon Lok Sabha seat but lost. All three leaders lost the Lok Sabha polls.

In Tamil Nadu's Vikravandi, the bypolls were held due to the death of the sitting MLA of Thiru. N. Pugazhenthi. In Madhya Pradesh's Amarwara, the bypoll was held due to the resignation of MLA Kamlesh Pratap Shah, who quit Congress to join the BJP.

In Badrinath, the election was held due to the resignation of MLA Rajendra Singh Bhandari, who joined BJP after leaving Congress. In Manglaur, the bypolls were held due to the demise of MLA Sarwat Karim Ansari. 

In Punjab, bypolls were held for the Jalandhar West seat due to the resignation of MLA Sheetal Angural. He had resigned from AAP to join the BJP but later tried to withdraw his resignation. However, the Speaker accepted his resignation. 

In Himachal Pradesh, the bypolls were held in the Dehra seat due to the resignation of MLA Hoshyar Singh, in Hamirpur due to the resignation of MLA Ashish Sharma and in Nalagarh due to the resignation of MLA KL Thakur.

Uttarakhand Bypoll Results Live: Congress Wins Badrinath; Close Fight In Manglaur

Congress candidate Lakhpat Singh Butola has won the Badrinath assembly seat while a close contest is underway in the Manglaur seat where Congress candidate Qazi Mohammed Nizamuddin is leading by a margin of around 400 votes against BJP's Kartar Singh Bhadana.

Amarwara Assembly Election Results Live: BJP Solidifies Lead

KAMLESH PRATAP SHAH of the Bharatiya Janata Party has solidified its lead against Congress candidate Dheeren Shah, who was leading from the Amarwara seat of Madhya Pradesh earlier. Kamlesh is leading by over 3,252 votes after polling 83,036 votes.

Nalagarh Assembly Bye-Election Results Live Updates: Hardeep Bawa Of Congress Wins

From the Nalagarh Assembly of Himachal Pradesh, Congress candidate Hardeep Bawa defeated the BJP’s KL Thakur by 8,990 votes. Hardeep Singh Bawa secured 34,608 votes while KL Thakur got 25,618 votes.

Raiganj Assembly Bye-Election Results Live: TMC Wins Raiganj

Trinamool Congress candidate Krishna Kalyani won from the Raiganj seat by a margin of over 50,000 votes. The seat was earlier held by the BJP. As per reports, Krishna Kalyani of TMC got 86,479 votes, BJP's Manas Kumar Ghosh 36,402 votes and Congress candidate Mohit Sengupta got 23,116 votes.
