Delhi Elections 2025 Live Updates: The stage is set for the much-anticipated Delhi Assembly elections, with 70 seats up for grabs. The main contest once again appears to be between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). AAP, in power for 11 years, faces BJP, which has been in opposition for over two and a half decades. Meanwhile, Congress aims to make a notable impact this time.

AAP has released its list of 70 candidates and is campaigning vigorously. Arvind Kejriwal will contest from the New Delhi seat, with BJP fielding Parvesh Verma, son of Saheb Singh Verma, against him.

Delhi will vote in a single phase on February 5, with the counting of votes set for February 8.

Other candidates in this list are Rajesh Gupta from Kirari, Kunwar Karan Singh from Model Town, Prem Sharma from Hari Nagar, Harbani Kaur from Janakpuri, Mange Ram from Palam, Jitender Solanki from Vikaspuri, Sushma Yadav from Najafgarh, Vishesh Tokas from RK Puram, Rajiv Chaudhary from Vishwas Nagar, Kamal Arora from Gandhi Nagar, Jagat Singh from Shahdara, Bheesham Sharma from Ghonda, and Ishwar Bagri from Gokalpur. According to information, several Congress candidates will be filing their nominations on Wednesday. Congress leader Alka Lamba filed her nomination on Tuesday from the Kalkaji constituency.

Delhi Elections 2025 Live Updates: BJP Attacks AAP On Bomb Threats To School

The BJP on Tuesday asked AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal to clarify if his party has any connection with those allegedly involved in sending bomb threats to more than 400 schools in Delhi recently.

This came after Delhi Police claimed that a Class-12 student had sent hoax bomb threats to more than 400 city schools and that his parents are linked to an NGO that supports a political party. The police, however, did not reveal the name of the political party.

A police officer also said that during the investigation, it was found that the NGO had also voiced support to Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.

Hitting back, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused the BJP of "concocting stories" ahead of Assembly polls and asserted that "no evidence has so far come for the police".

AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday alleged the BJP is distributing money and gold chains to lure voters ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
