New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget for 2023-24 in Parliament on Wednesday. This year's Budget holds much significance as this will be the last full Budget before the 2024 General Elections. This is the Finance Minister's fifth Budget presentation since 2019. The FM will present the Union Budget with a digital device instead of the traditional 'bahi-khata' in her hands.

Among other stories, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Mahesh Jethmalani has accused the BBC of taking money from China to spread Beijing's anti-India propaganda. 

Meanwhile, the death toll in the Peshawar mosque blast has crossed 100 as more bodies have been fished out of the debris.

‘Step-Motherly Treatment’: Arvind Kejriwal Upset with Budget 2023

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has expressed his displeasure over the Union Budget 2023. He alleged that despite paying more than Rs 1.75 lakh crore in income tax last year, the city was allocated only Rs 325 crore in the Union Budget 2023-24, which was announced by Union FM Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament.

Raising Mujahideen for war was a big Mistake

Pakistan's Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has admitted inside the National Assembly that it was a collective mistake to prepare the mujahideen to go to war with a global force. "We did not need to make Mujahideen. We created Mujahideen and then they became terrorists," Sanaullah said while addressing the country`s upper house of Parliament.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has created a unique record of sorts. She has entered a select league of finance ministers to present five consecutive union budgets in independent India. Sitharaman is only the sixth finance minister to do so, joining the league of ministers like Manmohan Singh, Arun Jaitley and P Chidambaram. Union Budget 2023 is FM Sitharaman's fifth consecutive union budget presentation.
