Maha Vikas Aghadi of Congress, NCP (SP), and Shiv Sena (UBT) announced on Wednesday that they will contest 85 seats each in the Maharashtra assembly elections, despite the fact that negotiations to finalise a seat-sharing agreement are still ongoing. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut announced in a press conference that 270 of the 288 seats up for election on November 20 have been agreed upon.

"We will include the Samajwadi Party, the PWP, CPI(M), the CPI, and the AAP. The remaining seats are still subject to discussion. We have mutually agreed on 270 seats. Raut said that the MVA is united in its opposition to the Mahayuti government.

Nana Patole, chief of the Maharashtra Congress, stated that the remaining seats will be reserved for Samajwadi party and other smaller allies.

Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena (UBT) on Wednesday evening released its first list of 65 candidates for the November 20 Maharashtra assembly elections.
