Punjab Assembly Election Result 2022: 'Uthta Punjab' to 'Udta Punjab...,' AAP's roadmap ahead

Punjab from now onwards will not be known as “Udhta Punjab” but will be recognised as “Uthta Punjab”, said Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) co-in charge for Punjab affairs Raghav Chadha on Thursday after early trends reflected a comfortable victory for the party.

New Delhi: Punjab from now onwards will not be known as “Udhta Punjab” but will be recognised as “Uthta Punjab”, said Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) co-in charge for Punjab affairs Raghav Chadha on Thursday after early trends reflected a comfortable victory for the party.

“Punjab will not be known as 'Udta Punjab' from now onwards, but 'Uthta Punjab'... all the credit goes to AAP workers,” said Chadha while addressing party workers after the early projections.

The leader also applauded the efforts of AAP workers in Punjab for the Assembly Elections 2022 and said the victory belongs to them.

“All the credit goes to AAP workers, they didn't see day or night, summer or winter, and continued working for the party. AAP will work for everybody progressively,” ANI quotes Chadha as saying.

As per the Election Commission of India, Aam Aadmi Party`s candidate Charanjit Singh is leading with 8785 votes followed by Congress candidate and incumbent CM Charanjit Singh Channi on 6852 votes on Chamkaur Sahib seat at 9:50 am.

In initial trends, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, state Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu are trailing from Chamkur Sahib and Amritsar East seats respectively.

On the Bhadaur seat also Channi is trailing behind Aam Aadmi Party`s candidate Labh Singh Ugoke.

On the Amritsar East seat, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Jeevan Jyot Kaur, who campaigned for herself on a scooter, is leading with 3058 votes followed by Shiromani Akali Dal`s candidate Bikram Singh Majithia with 2468 votes.

The early trends show that the AAP in Punjab has crossed the halfway mark Punjab. It is leading on 79 seats, followed by Congress (14) and SAD (7).
