Barrackpore registered 76.92 percent voter turnout in 2019, a loss of 4.71 percent. The total number of electors in the constituency is 1433276 while the total voter turnout is 1102497. While in 2014, the constituency registered 81.63 percent voter turnout. The total number of electors in the constituency was 1284296 while the total voter's turnout was 1048402.

Dinesh Trivedi of ruling Trinamool Congress is the incumbent Member of Parliament from this constituency. In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Dinesh Trivedi won the seat by getting 479,206 votes.
