Mumbai rains: Intermittent spells of intense shower in city, says IMD

Schedules of flights arriving at and departing from Mumbai Airport hampered as visibility dropped to 300 metres on Wednesday morning.

MUMBAI: Normal life was thrown out of gear as heavy rains continued to lash Maharashtra's capital city Mumbai on Wednesday morning. Waterlogging and traffic snarls were reported from several parts of the city and suburbs. Local trains were running 15- 20 minutes behind schedule. The city will witness a high tide at 4.24 pm.

Office-goers and students hit due to crawling traffic. Suburban trains running late by 15-25 minutes on the Western Railway and Central Railway. Traffic diversions observed in Parel, Dadar, Wadala, Kurla, Sion, Tilak Nagar, Andheri, Santacruz, Khar, Goregaon, Malad and other flooded pockets.

These diverted routes are:

1. Alankar Talkies to Bhendi Bazaar traffic diverted via Don Taki to JJ Hospital.

3. Gandhi Market traffic diverted via Bridge and Bhau Daji Lad Marg. 
4. Sion Road No.24 traffic diverted via Road No. 3

Traffic snarls was reported from several parts of the city due to water logging. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has issued an alert across the state. The Disaster Helpline Number is 1916.
