Dense fog engulfed the national capital on Thursday morning, reducing the visibility to a mere 300 metres, the Met Office said.

The day ahead will be partly cloudy, an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said, adding the minimum temperature settled at 9 degrees Celsius.

The humidity at 8.30 am was recorded at 100 percent. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 24 degrees Celsius.

Wednesday`s maximum temperature was recorded at 24.2 degrees Celsius, two notches above the average for this time of the season.
