Heavy rains lashed parts of the national capital providing some relief to Delhiites even as the downpour triggered traffic snarls in various intersections and busy roundabouts in the city.

New Delhi: Heavy rains lashed parts of the national capital providing some relief to Delhiites even as the downpour triggered traffic snarls in various intersections and busy roundabouts in the city.

"The maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 35.8 and 28.6 degrees Celsius, both a notch above normal," a MeT official said.

Humidity levels oscillated between 83 and 42 per cent and 4.6 mm rainfall was recorded during the day.

The downpour triggered traffic snarls in parts of the city, with vehicles coming to halt at various intersections and busy roundabouts.

Weatherman has predicted generally cloudy sky for tomorrow with possibility of light rains in few areas.

"The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 33 and 27.3 degrees Celsius," the official added.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 34.6 degrees Celsius, while the minimum settled at 28.3 degrees, both a notch above the normal.
