No end to garbage politics in Delhi as MCD workers' strike enters sixth day

New Delhi: Hundreds of MCD employees continued to protest over non payment of salaries as their ongoing strike entered the sixth day on Monday.

According to reports, hundreds of sanitation workers today protested outside the North MCD office over non payment of dues.

Two days after targeting Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, the MCD workers today agitated outside the residence of Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra and dumped tonnes of garbage there.

The MCD agitators also warned that they won't allow state government workers to clear the garbage from the streets.

Meanwhile, the Delhi government has left the decision to the High Court.

The State Public Works Department has appointed its own task force to clean the garbage off the streets as over 60,000 sanitation workers along with over 7,000 doctors & 12,000 engineering staff continue to be on strike.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that he had ordered extra trucks to be deployed to clear up piling garbage. AAP Ministers were seen with a broom in their hand to help PWD workers on Sunday.
