AIIMS to conduct online entrance test for filling 672 MBBS seats on May 29

New Delhi: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will conduct an online entrance examination for admissions to the MBBS course on May 29.
The registration process for the exam will start in the last week of January. A total of 672 seats are available in 7 AIIMS-like institutions across the country.
The results will be declared on June 14.
Eligibility criteria
Educational qualification:
Candidates planning to sit in the exam must have secured 60 percent marks in Class 12 or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
However for SC/ST candidates, the qualifying marks is 50 percent.
Also, the candidates must complete 17 years of age at the time of admission or should be reaching the age on or before December 31, 2016.
Exam pattern
The online exam will have a total of 200 multiple-choice and reason-assertion based questions. There will be 60 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and 20 questions from General Knowledge topics.
One mark will be awarded for a correct answer and a negative marking for each incorrect answer.
Question pattern:
Physics: 60
Chemistry: 60
Biology: 60
General Knowledge: 20
The exam duration will be of 3 hours and 30 minutes and will be divided into morning and forenoon sessions.
