CLAT-2016 date announced, registration starts from January 1

The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Patiala, on Tuesday announced the dates for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for entry into 17 national law universities for the academic session 2016-17.

New Delhi: The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Patiala, on Tuesday announced the dates for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for entry into 17 national law universities for the academic session 2016-17. 

The exam will be held on May 8, 2016. 

A notification was issued by the RGNUL which is the organising university for the exam. 

The online application submission process starts from January 1, 2016.

CLAT is held for admisisons to the five-year integrated Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law (BA plus LLB) Honors and one year Master of Law (LL.M) course.


Eligibility/Educational qualification:

For undergraduate programme: The candidate must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum of 45% marks if he belongs to General/OBC/Specially-abled category. Candidates from SC/ST category should have at least 40% marks. Candidates appearing in their qualifying exams in the current academic year are also eligible to apply. 

No age limit has been prescribed for sitting in this exam next year.

For the postgraduate programme: Candidate must have passed LL.B or equivalent degree exam with a minimum of 55% marks in case of General/OBC/Specially-abled persons categories and 50% in case of SC/ST category. 

Application fee

The online application fee for the test is Rs 4,000 for General, OBC and Specially-abled Persons (SAP) candidates, and Rs 3,500 for SC and ST candidates.

The last date for submission of online application form is March 31, 2016.
