Here are a few tips that teach you how you can take care of your eyesight:
Diet: Diet plays a crucial role when it comes to maintaining a healthy vision. Eat green leafy vegetables, fruits, eggs and almonds to keep your eyes healthy. Also, eat fishes such as tuna, salmon and other oily fish. These foods are rich in nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids, lutein, zinc, and vitamins C and E. Studies show these nutrients might help ward off age-related vision problems like macular degeneration and cataracts.
Sun glasses: Try wearing sun glasses while going out as this will help protect your eyes from the ultraviolet (UV) rays. Because too much UV exposure can lead to cataracts and macular degeneration.
Spectacles/eye lenses: Make sure that your spectacles or contact lenses are up-to-date and adequate for the activities that you do. Keep them clean and know how to use in such a way that is safe for your eyes.

Relaxation exercises: In order to keep our eyes healthy, they need regular exercise just like any other muscle in the body.
Sit quietly with your eyes closed and place your hands together – palm to palm – and rub them together until they become warm. Place them gently over your eyes and let your eyes relax avoiding light to come in. Do this whenever you can during the day, particularly when you're working on the computer.
Apart from this, rest your eyes by looking 20 feet away for 20 seconds after every 20 minutes. Also, try to get up and take a 15-minute break after every 2 hours.
Eye exams: An eye exam is an essential part for every individual and not just for people experiencing problems in their visual acuity. It should be part of a normal health checkup routine to enjoy a healthy eyesight. Moreover, a regular eye care can also help detect other systematic health issues thereby avoiding further complications later in life.
