After Incredible India, Aamir Khan out of road safety campaign too?

New Delhi: After being replaced as the brand ambassador of Incredible India, Aamir Khan is now dropped from the government's road safety campaign too.

According to a report in The Telegraph, Aamir Khan has been dropped from a road safety drive, apparently over 'intolerance' controversy.

The 'PK' actor was signed as the brand ambassador for the road safety campaign in December 2014 after road transport and highways minister Gadkari had personally approached him after watching an episode of his TV show, Satyamev Jayate, in October that year.

Interestingly, Aamir Khan agreed to feature in ads for the road safety campaign free of cost after a meeting with Gadkari in Mumbai.

Earlier, Aamir Khan, who was dropped as the mascot of 'Incredible India' campaign after 10 years, had said he respects the government's decision to "discontinue" his services while making it clear that he never charged anything for the task.

While many see Aamir's removal as the face of 'Incredible India' a consequence of his comments on the intolerance issue, the tourism ministry said they had not hired the actor but had left it to an agency to do that.
