Fireworks likely in Parliament today over National Herald, intolerance, Sushma's Pak visit

New Delhi: Parliament's Winter Session is likely to witness pandemonium in both the Houses as Congress top leaders have chalked out a comprehensive strategy to corner Modi government over National Herald case, intolerance row, Sushma Swaraj's visit to Pakistan among other issues.

National Herald case

The Congress has decided to stall the Parliament again over the National Herald case, according to sources.

The Congress has called the case an example of 'political vendetta' by the NDA government. Rahul Gandhi has said that he would continue to put pressure on the government and won't back off.

Intolerance debate

Also, intolerance debate is likely to rock Parliament as the Congress leaders have been demanding resignation of VK Singh over dog remark. In addition to Congress, other opposition parties have also sought Singh's resignation.

Sushma's statement on Pak visit

Moreover, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will make a statement in Parliament to update about her visit to Pakistan.

Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday in Islamabad said that India and Pakistan are resuming bilateral dialogue. Swaraj made the announcement following a meeting with Sartaj Aziz, the Pakistani Prime Minister's foreign policy adviser.

Both Houses of Parliament have been witnessing adjournments for the past two days due to stalling by Congress as Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi were asked to appear before court in connection with the National Herald case.
