HP CM failed to attract investors for HP tourism industry: BJP

BJP leader Shanta Kumar today hit out at Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh for "failing to attract investors for tourism industry" in the state.

Dharamsala: BJP leader Shanta Kumar today hit out at Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh for "failing to attract investors for tourism industry" in the state.

"The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh has failed to attract investors for the tourism industry," the BJP MP said, while expressing surprise over Singh not speaking about the state's tourism industry at an investor's conclave in Delhi.

The former Chief Minister of the state advised Singh to concentrate on the tremendous potential of the tourism industry Himachal Pradesh which is blessed by God with natural beauty, a press release stated.

Stating that tourism industry generates most number of jobs, Kumar said, "Himachal has invited 1,400 investors for tourism industry, who could generate some tax revenue but won't create much scope for job seekers of the state."
