New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday extended Republic Day greetings and paid tributes to those “great personalities” who framed our Constitution.

The PM also saluted Dr BR Ambedkar for his efforts as chairman of the Constitution drafting committee.

As India celebrates its 67th Republic Day today, tight security is being maintained across the country.

 

French President Francois Hollande will be the Chief Guest at the Republic Day parade.

A multi-layer security blanket has been thrown around the national capital with anti-aircraft guns positioned at vantage points in view of intelligence inputs that terror groups may target some important installations in the national capital.

 

Special arrangements have been made at the historic Rajpath where President Pranab Mukherjee, who is the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, will be witnessing nation's military might that will be on display.

French President Francois Hollande will be seated along with Mukherjee and host of VVIPs including Vice President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Besides the entire might of Delhi Police, personnel from paramilitary forces have also been pressed into security duty service.
