Members keen on maximum discussion, says Lok Sabha Speaker

New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, who on Wednesday evening met leaders of parties in Lok Sabha, said there had been an agreement to have as much discussions as possible in the house during the winter session which begins on Thursday.
Talking to reporters, Mahajan said that the first two days will be devoted to discussion on "Commitment to the Constitution" as a part of 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Bhim Rao Ambedkar, considered the chief architect of the Constitution.
She said other business, including the government bills, will be taken up from Monday.
"There was an agreement to have maximum discussion by following the parameters of parliamentary dignity," she said.
Mahajan also said that steps had been taken to make the working of the house paperless.
Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Jyotiraditya Scindia were among those who attended the meeting.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu was also present.
The Winter Session of Parliament will conclude on December 23.
