PM Narendra Modi flags off 'Run For Unity' at Rajpath on Sardar Patel's birth anniversary

Rajpath and Rafi Marg will be closed from 5 am to 9.30 am, while Janpath and Man Singh Road will be closed between 7 am to 9.30 am for general public.

New Delhi: On the 140th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Prime Minister Narendra on Saturday flagged off the 'Run For Unity' at Rajpath.

The day is being celebrated as 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' (National Unity Day).​

Earlier, the Prime Minister honoured Sardar Patel on the occasion of his birth anniversary.

He also paid tribute to former prime minister Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary.

Around 15,000 participants have taken part in the event on the occasion.

Rajpath and Rafi Marg will be closed from 5 am to 9.30 am, while Janpath and Man Singh Road will be closed between 7 am to 9.30 am for general public in order to facilitate smooth conduct of the function.
