Prisoner found posting pics on FB, probe ordered

Burdwan: A prisoner, lodged at the Burdwan Correctional Home for the past one year, has been allegedly found posting his pictures and of other inmates on social networking site Facebook, thus causing a flutter among the administration here.

Confirming receiving the report of prisoner Vishal Singh posting pictures of his and some other jail inmates for past few months, a top district official said, "We are holding a probe."

The official said none will be spared if any irregularities were found with respect to prison security.

Singh was arrested a year ago in a narcotics case.

The ADM said the authorities were also looking into allegations that he chatted on FB with outside friends and this was a serious charge.

Superintendent of Correctional Home, Subharata Chatterjee said he was looking into the report.
