Mumbai: Yuri Nishimura is involved in providing education to slum kids in Mumbai's Vadala area. Her unique way of teaching is a hit among her students, who are mostly from nearby slums and footpaths.

The 58-year-old former music teacher from Kyoto, Japan successfully blends music, dance and study to keep these kids happy and curious. She runs an NGO which is working for providing education to needy children.

"The Sunshine project was started 12 years ago by a St. Joseph Convent sister and Yuri Nishimura from Japan. This project was started for slum kids," said Bryan Fernandes a teacher at Yuri Nishimora NGO.

Initially, Yuri was involved in providing education only to kids suffering from leprosy but later she also included slum kids in her project.
