Pune: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has finally given his nod for a meting with Bhumata Brigade chief Trupti Desai days after she wrote a letter to him questioning the participation of women in the Hindu organisation.
As per reports, Bhagwat is likely to meet Desai in the month of July.
"Bhumata brigade had sent a letter to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat saying that women should be given equal recognition as men in the RSS. And in response to our letter Mohan Bagwat ji has said that in the coming month he will busy with in house camps and will meet me in the month of July," ANI quoted RSS as saying.
According to Desai she received the telephonic message through RSS Sampark Pramukh (PRO) Aniruddh Deshpande.
Desai wrote to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat saying that it should allow women to become its members.
Desai has been in the news for months for leading a campaign to secure women's entry into the Shani Shingnapur temple in Ahmednagar district and the Trimbakeshwar Temple in Nashik district.
