Illegal construction: UP CM suspends MLA Rampal Yadav from party

Samajwadi Party today expelled MLA Rampal Yadav from the party for six years in illegal construction case.

Lucknow: Another incident of  lawlessness emerged back in Uttar Pradesh on Friday after Samajwadi Party MLA Rampal Yadav and his supporters clashed with officers and police over demolition of a building owned by the party lawmaker. 

The Samajwadi MLA along with 9 other people were sent to 14 days of judicial custody in the illegal construction case.

Following the report, state Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav expelled Yadav from the party for six years.

As per the report, after the officers and police today reached site to carry out demolition drive of a hotel-cum-multiplex building in Sitapur district, the MLA along with his supporters started a violent protest and attacked the officers. The building is said to be illegally constructed. 

The police had to finally intervene and arrested MLA Yadav and few supporters. 

ACP Lucknow confirmed the incident and told India Today, "MLA Rampal Yadav and his goons attacked the officers as soon as they arrived the site. They were also carrying pistols along with them. We have arrested Yadav and his supporters and investigation is underway."

According to ACP the lawmaker and his goons were successful in enforcing the demolition work. 

On the other hand, the Samajwadi MLA claimed that the building was being demolished without any legal notice or paper work and he was not intimidated beforehand.
