Manila: Authorities in Philippines were left shocked after a mummified body of man was found in a yacht drifting in the Pacific Ocean.
The dead man was sitting slumped near the radio in the cabin of the 12-meter (40-foot) long white yatch; the mast was broken, maybe in a storm.
The yacht found last week by Filipino fishermen off the southeastern province of Surigao del Sur.
There were no visible signs of foul play, like a gunshot or stabbing wound, the police said.
The police suspect that the man he died of natural causes, maybe a heart attack as he was sitting by the table when he passed away.
The AP reports that the documents found in the yacht showed that it was apparently owned by a German adventurer identified as Manfred Fritz Bajorat, adding that investigators still have to determine whether he was the dead man.
