The year 2015 witnessed a number of natural disasters around the world; floods in Tamil Nadu, earthquake in Nepal to name a few. 

Here are some of the major natural calamities that shook the world in 2015.

Tamil Nadu floods

Record-shattering torrential rains in Chennai brought the city to its knees. The incessant rains resulting in floods claimed over 325 lives. The  widespread flooding shut down the airport, several trains and factories of top automobile companies. Lakhs of people in the worst-hit areas faced acute short supply of essentials including water, power, milk and food items.

Nepal earthquake

The Nepal earthquake, one of the worst disasters of the year, killed nearly 9,000 people and injured more than 23,000. 

The 7.8-magnitude quake jolted Nepal on 25 April. Its epicenter was Lamjung. It was the worst natural disaster to shook Nepal since the 1934 Nepal-Bihar earthquake.

Air pollution in Delhi
