Beef ban row: Rishi Kapoor slammed over controversial tweets

New Delhi: Actor Rishi Kapoor who has recently joined the Twitterverse, recently posted about the 'Beef Ban' imposed in Maharastra. 

The actor posted: 

I am angry. Why do you equate food with religion?? I am a beef eating Hindu. Does that mean I am less God fearing then a non eater? Think!! — rishi kapoor (@chintskap) March 15, 2015

The actor was quite taken aback when a Twitter war broke out over his take on the ban. Many criticised him, and many even took to hurling abuses at the actor for his take. 

But Kapoor did not back down and confronted the accusations, even blocking some of the trolls. 

He put up a series of posts telling the people off about 'bigotry' and clarifying his position.
