One of the most loved mother figures on celluloid, Reema Lagoo passed away in the wee hours this morning following a cardiac arrest. The veteran actress was reportedly admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital where she breathed her last.

The 59-year-old actress had played mother to almost all the A-listers in B-Town. Especially, fans loved watching her play mum to superstar Salman Khan on-screen. Amidst a bevy of celebrities expressing their grief over the sudden demise of the veteran actress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi too extended his condolences over the loss.

Reema Lagoo acted in several Hindi and Marathi films. Besides she also actively performed in theatre. She is known for several blockbuster films such as 'Hum Aapke Hain Kaun', 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', 'Kal Ho Na Ho', 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' and 'Vaastav' to name a few.
Her immensely popular television show 'Shrimaan Shrimati' and 'Tu Tu Main Main' will always be remembered. At present, she was a part o the TV show 'Naamkaran'.
