The report informs that the panel led by former finance secretary Ratan Watal has suggested various steps to cut down on cash usage in the economy from 12 percent of GDP in three years in the 30-90 days timeline.

The panel has suggested a number of measures and amendments in the payments system to promote cashless economy.

The government is promoting digital payments since its demonetisation move on November 8.
