Among the most profitable trains for Indian Railways, neither the Vande Bharat Express nor the Shatabdi Express ranks in the top spots. The revenue generated by the Rajdhani trains leads the top. Specifically, the Bangalore Rajdhani Express holds the top position in terms of earnings.
Reportedly, train number 22692, the Bangalore Rajdhani Express which travels from Hazrat Nizamuddin to KSR Bengaluru generates the top revenue. In the fiscal year 2022-23, this train carried 509,510 passengers and generated approximately Rs 1,76,06,66,339 in revenue for the railways.
The second most profitable train for Indian Railways is the Sealdah Rajdhani Express, which connects Kolkata in West Bengal to the national capital, New Delhi. Train number 12314, the Sealdah Rajdhani Express, served 509,164 passengers in the fiscal year 2022-23, generating a revenue of Rs 1,28,81,69,274 approximately.
The third one is the Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express. This train, which operates between New Delhi and Dibrugarh, served 474,605 passengers in the past year, generating a revenue of Rs 1,26,29,09,697 approximately for Indian Railways. (Image: Zee News Hindi)
