Mukesh Khanna attended the same school as renowned actors Shakti Kapoor and Naseeruddin Shah. He pursued higher education at St. Xavier's College in Mumbai before enrolling in the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune.

Holding a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree and a Master of Laws qualification, he also completed an acting course at FTII, refining his skills in the art of acting.

 

Mukesh Khanna is widely recognized as one of the most prominent faces in Indian television. He gained immense fame portraying 'Bhishma Pitamah' in B.R. Chopra’s Mahabharat. Khanna is also celebrated as India’s first on-screen superhero for his iconic role as Shaktimaan. 

Shaktimaan, created by Mukesh Khanna, aired on DD National from September 13, 1997, to March 27, 2005, becoming one of India’s longest-running and most beloved TV shows. His other iconic work, Mahabharat, based on the ancient Sanskrit epic, originally aired 94 episodes from October 2, 1988, to June 24, 1990, on Doordarshan. 

In 2013, Mukesh Khanna was nominated at the Indian Telly Awards for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara. 

Mukesh Khanna reportedly earned 7.80 lakh rupees per episode for Shaktimaan. After the show reached 104 episodes, his fee was increased from 3 to 10 lakh rupees per episode, eventually receiving 10.80 lakh. Khanna mentioned that the producers considered paying him up to 16 lakh rupees. 

According to CAknowledge.com, Mukesh Khanna’s estimated net worth is $3 million (around 22 crore rupees), a testament to his successful and diverse career in Indian entertainment, from television shows to films. 

Beyond acting, Mukesh Khanna is the founder and director of Bheeshm International. Currently, he hosts The Mukesh Khanna Show on his personal YouTube channel Bheeshm International, which has amassed 1.3 million subscribers.
