First Look: Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Set To Outshine Rajdhani! See Exclusive Photos, Check Cutting-Edge Features

The country’s first Vande Bharat sleeper version has been prepared. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav inspected the sleeper coach at the BEML facility in Bengaluru, highlighting its readiness for passenger use by December after a two-month testing phase.

The Vande Bharat sleeper train prototype features 16 coaches, including 11 AC 3-tier coaches with 611 berths, 4 AC 2-tier coaches with 188 berths, and 1 AC First Class coach with 24 berths, offering various accommodation options. Following the completion of the testing process within the next two months, the inaugural Vande Bharat sleeper service will be available to passengers starting in December.

Developed by Indian Railways and BEML, the train's interiors boast top-notch GFRP panels, automatic exterior passenger doors, sensor-based intercommunication doors, and an ergonomically designed odor-free toilet system, all aimed at providing a European standard of comfort. 

The sleeper train includes passenger-friendly features like integrated reading lights with USB charging, specially designed berths and toilets for differently-abled passengers, modular pantries, public announcement and visual information systems, interior display panels, security cameras, and hot water showers in the AC First Class coach. 

Passengers will enjoy enhanced berth comfort with extra cushioning, redesigned ladders for easier access to upper berths, and spacious luggage areas, all contributing to a more pleasant travel experience. 

For enhanced safety, the train is equipped with advanced crashworthy elements, including specially designed crash buffers and couplers, with all materials meeting the highest fire safety standards, ensuring a safe journey for passengers. 

The Vande Bharat sleeper train promises a smooth, jerk-free ride, featuring fully sealed gangways that provide a dust-free environment and improved air conditioning, offering a more comfortable travel experience. 

Indian Railways aims to revolutionize overnight travel with the Vande Bharat sleeper train, expected to significantly reduce travel time on key routes such as Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Kolkata. However, the specific routes for the train have yet to be finalized, adding anticipation to its launch.
